I got through the 3rd round of vocabulary in 日本語能力試験1級・2級 試験に出る漢字と語彙, and got around to putting the 55 new terms into my SRS this morning.
One thing I enjoy is coming across terms that I have seen being used and which I sort of guessed the meaning of, finding out that my guesses were pretty much correct, or close to being correct. Most of it has to do with my long-term obsession with fantasy-based games, where I come across terms like 応戦 (counter [attack]), 攻撃 (attack), 幸運 (luck), and so on. And here I thought that playing games would ultimately be a waste of my time! Unfortunately, I’ve nearly completely fallen out of love with gaming, save for the times when I get a brief hankering to fire up some modern online fantasy game and give it a go. I’ve completely derailed my entry here.
I’m hoping to pick up speed as kanji begin repeating themselves within the next week or two. Maybe I can get through two lessons per day at that point.
